Five portfolio companies featured in Northern Tech Awards Top 100

We were delighted to see five of our portfolio companies feature in the Northern Tech Awards Top 100 this year. Based on revenue growth across the last three years, the rankings recognise the top 100 fastest growing technology companies in the North of the UK, with Distology, Pimberly, Lights4fun, Cloud Technology Solutions and CMap all featured.

The North continues to play a significant role in shaping the wider tech ecosystem within the UK and we are proud to back ambitious management teams within the sector, supporting them to build better businesses.

Leading specialist cyber security services partner Distology ranked 24th on the list. Founded in 2014, Distology is a value-added-distributor representing vendors of IT security technology products across EMEA, helping to protect businesses’ digital estates from the growing threat of cyber-attacks. The business is headquartered in Manchester with access to the European market via its office in The Netherlands. NorthEdge has supported the business to open two new offices, partner with several new cyber vendors and continue to invest heavily in its people, with overall headcount increasing by more than 40% since investment.

Based in Manchester, Pimberly provides a SaaS Product Information Management and Digital Asset Management (PIM/DAM) platform. Pimberly allows retailers, distributors, brands and manufacturers to significantly increase sales through accurate, engaging, media rich product information. NorthEdge has supported the business to expand its product development, invest in customer success and accelerate new business development, placing it 33rd in the Top 100.

Harrogate-headquartered Lights4fun, is one of Europe’s leading e-commerce retailers of decorative lighting, selling over 700 products internationally across the across the UK, France, Germany and the US. Since investment NorthEdge has supported the business to drive growth in the UK and further increase its international presence. The business placed 43rd in the overall rankings and 10th in the Larger Companies category.

Cloud migration business, Cloud Technology Solutions, placed 51st in the Top 100, and 14th in the Larger Companies category. Founded 10 years ago and headquartered in Manchester city centre, CTS provides cloud transformation services and software to a broad range of businesses – CloudM, the software business, has performed over 68 million migrations across 107 countries. Over the last four years NorthEdge has supported CTS to further develop their software offering, build out the team and accelerate growth through complementary acquisitions in machine learning, artificial intelligence and data analytics.

Serving thousands of users in over 60 countries worldwide, with offices in Wilmslow and Orlando, CMap provides integrated, cloud-based project management software to clients across a range of sectors including accounting, architecture and consulting. We have supported the business to drive continued growth in its core sectors, expand into new sectors, invest in the software platform and grow the team. CMap placed 58th in the Top 100 this year.
