Last week we were delighted to host our annual Charity Golf Day at The Wilmslow Golf Club in support of the National Brain Appeal. The charity raises vital funds to support world leading centres for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with neurological and neuromuscular conditions.
Since 1994, the National Brain Appeal has also funded Rare Dementia Support (RDS), a service offering specialist support for individuals living with, or affected by, a rare dementia diagnosis. They are currently raising up to £7m towards the creation of a world-first centre of excellence in London, that will provide unprecedented support and advice for people with these conditions, and those who care for them.
Welcoming 23 teams and 96 golfers to the course, everyone enjoyed a full day of golf in the glorious sunshine, followed by a charity dinner in the evening. We would like to thank ITC for providing the grand raffle prize at the dinner – a luxury holiday to Barbados for two. Our thanks also goes to each of the ten portfolio companies who sponsored one of the holes, The Wilmslow Golf Club for being fantastic hosts, as well as everyone who offered their time and energy to make it such an enjoyable and successful day.
All in all we were delighted to raise an incredible £53,000 for the National Brain Appeal!
“Once again we have been delighted to see the entire NorthEdge network come together in aid of our charity event. Our support will be instrumental in helping RDS to build this groundbreaking facility, transforming the outlook for people affected by rare, genetic and young-onset dementias. I would like to send my personal thanks to everyone involved for creating a memorable day in support of a truly worthwhile cause.” Grant Berry, Executive Chair.
