In recognition of International Women’s Day 2023, we have been running a series of activities throughout the month of March in support of Smart Works – a UK charity that exists to give women the confidence they need to reach their full potential, secure employment and change the trajectory of their lives.
Earlier in the month members of Team NorthEdge participated in the Cycle for Smart Works challenge, cycling a total of 300 miles in just seven days to raise money for the charity. The team have continued cycling throughout the month, travelling a total distance of 500 miles and raising £785 in the process.
To round off our activity, we hosted a networking event for inspirational women across our community to discuss how we can drive positive change and collectively create a more inclusive environment across the deals market.
As part of the event we collected clothing donations and asked people to pledge their time, alongside us, to volunteer at Smart Works. Having collected all pledges, we’re delighted to announce that we have collectively pledged a total of 125 hours to support the new Manchester Smart Works centre over the coming months.
Thank you to everyone for their time and donations in support of a fantastic cause!
