In a special episode of Beyond the Capital, we are joined by Elijah Essien, who recently joined us on a six-week internship programme as part of the 10,000 Black Interns initiative.
Elijah has just completed his first year of studying International Business at the University of Leeds and spent time at NorthEdge to learn more about the world of private equity and investment management.
Originally from Manchester, Elijah found a passion for business at GCSE and A-level, and recently completed Spring Week’s internships with Deloitte and EY. During his time at NorthEdge, Elijah attended portfolio company board meetings, worked alongside a number of our partners, and worked on an origination project – which he presented to the team in his final week.
In this episode of the Beyond the Capital, Elijah tells us more about his reasons for joining the 10,000 Black Interns initiative, why he would recommend it to others and what he will take from his six weeks at NorthEdge into his future career.
