In April, Team NorthEdge completed the Born Survivor Obstacle Course in support of Rare Dementia Support (RDS) and The National Brain Appeal.
We’re proud to share that the team have raised over £5,500 for these incredible charities, which will help support world leading centres for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with neurological and neuromuscular conditions.
Born Survivor is a military-grade obstacle course which tests your personal fitness, courage, determination and teamwork to the limit. Team NorthEdge completed the 6k Survivor event, held at Capesthorne Hall, Macclesfield, which featured 18+ obstacles designed by the Royal Marine Commandos.
All proceeds raised will go to RDS, with some used towards the establishment of the world’s first Rare Dementia Centre, which is hoped to be open within the next two years. Up to 15% of people living with a dementia have a rare dementia. This can bring with it a unique and complex set of challenges, including difficulties with language, vision, movement, and behaviour. However, there is a widespread lack of understanding and a shortage in the resources needed to support those affected.
