NorthEdge raises £7,500 for bliss at Great North Run

Last weekend, NorthEdge brought together a team of colleagues, family and friends of the firm to raise a fantastic £7,500 for Bliss, the charity for families with premature babies, as part of the Simplyhealth Great North Run 2019.

The team included NorthEdge’s James Marshall, Nicola McQuaid and James Hales, as well as Simon Marshall, Steve McQuaid, Kate Davies, Marcus Green, Kevin Still, and Aaron Lowery.

The fundraise will help to support Bliss, which exists to support more than 100,000 babies born every year needing neonatal care. The donation will help to bring Bliss closer to ensuring that every baby born premature or sick in the UK has the best chance of survival and quality of life by supporting parents to care for their babies, campaigning for better neonatal care and enabling life-changing research.

Bliss is close to NorthEdge’s heart, and James Marshall’s in particular, after the charity supported James and his wife, Kate, following the premature birth of their daughter, Florence.

James said: “Thank you to all of my colleagues and friends at NorthEdge who joined me in the Great North Run this year and to everyone that has donated. This generosity has meant we’ve been able to exceed our original target of £5,000, which is a fantastic result.

“Bliss were brilliant for Kate, Flo and I, and it’s also been great to hear how much they have helped a number of other people in my immediate network – all of which I expect to run with us next year!”
